Foto: @Viktorie MachalováAs part of the 27th International Teaching Week (ITW), organized by the International Office of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University Olomouc, Pickleball Olomouc had the pleasure of introducing this fast-growing sport to students and professors from partner universities around the world!
The event opened with a lecture by Sunwoo Lee, PhD, a researcher at the Institute of Active Lifestyle, Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, whose research focuses on physical activity and healthy lifestyles. She shared insights on the health benefits of pickleball. This was followed by a presentation from Nadiia Kruzman, Chairwoman of Pickleball Olomouc, on the development of the club and the growth of the sport in the Czech Republic and specifically here in Olomouc.
The highlight of the day was a full hour-long pickleball demonstration, giving students and teachers the chance to try the sport firsthand and experience why it's becoming so popular worldwide.
Students and staff of Palacký University also have the opportunity to play pickleball regularly through the sports programs of the Academic Sports Centre of Palacký University (ASC UP). Courses start at the beginning of each semester and run throughout the academic year.
Thank you to everyone who joined us — see you on the courts! 🏓🌍
